updates , updates, updates ....

BLOG UPDATE : Links and Navigation

As you may have noticed ive update alittle today with new heading, upcoming events etc and also just created a hotspots page(under construction) for extensive spots throughout Andover, which will also be updated with other locations in neighbouring towns.

Obviously these details will be provided to UFF and South Coast Parkour but extensive photos and information will be available through the site.
This was also done because i can appreciate the fact this blog could infact become cluttered with photos and also be hard to find when needed so it also provides a centralised location :).....and something else worth adding is a "interactive" map of andover will also display useful information in regards to parkour . i will post as soon as i have version 1 up....
So Click Andover Parkour HotSpots on the right navigation --->

P.S on the events upcoming there are icons for those people attending (also viewable by hovering your mouse over it)
Stuz is attending : Stuz is attending .... etc

Mondays gym session .....

Charlton Gym is a goldmine find and has really made the need for gym sessions go up in importance in my mind.

So GYM is very useful because it minimises to great extent injury worrys of landings and such.

The Gym itself has everything a traceur would need,... vast amounts of mats of all sizes, space.... wooden wall bars which we found incredibly useful for a minimum preparation time Cat Leap space.....
Balancing,.... rolls,... precision also, everything we need to progress safely. bring on next week

Next Week as Stu will not be joining me (being away) i shall more than likely try and possition a Jump britain/UFF esk catleap area for practicing.

First Gym Session

Tonight saw my first visit to the gymnastics gym that Kohl mentioned in his last post. At first I was nervous walking in by myself and seeing all these trained gymnastic teens doing their stuff but after a little talk to the old man behind the desk comfortability set in,and now all I can say about gym training sessions is THEY ARE TOTALY NECESSARY AND THE SAFEST PLACE TO PRACTICE ANYTHING,NOT TO MENTION KICKASS AND ARE FUN AS ANYTHING!!!!
I spent a good hour and 15 minutes just rolling.I shit you not.A woman showed and explained to me how to do a forward roll, which as we all know is NOT what you want to be doing in Parkour because it was right along the spine, but because I was on padded mats I did quite a few to get used to the feeling and momentum of rolling. Then when I felt no attention was on me I started practicing the Parkour roll. Not as easy as it looks and is gona take me a while to progress to concrete.Have come to the conclusion that no matter what it is gonna hurt and you're gonna have more impact with the floor than you expect.
